Looking back on the preliminary task, what do you feel you have leant in the progression from it to the full product?
For both magazines I had a very set target audience that I wanted to stick to. With this being said I had to make sure that this was clear both in my production and analysis.
Before starting media I had never used Photoshop therefore it was hard at first which is why I likes having the preliminary task because it meant that I was able to get better understanding of the program and experiment with the different tools. One of them being the overlay and changing the opacity.
For me INdesign was also challenging but it gave me an insight into how real media companies produce their work. Although some of the tools were the same I had less time using them and found myself still going back to Photoshop.
Having a flat plan really did help me to work quicker because of the fact that it I had clear outlines on where I was going. I found that making a much more detailed flat plan was more beneficial because in the preliminary task in was not that detailed therefore I still had to think on my feet during the actual
Production.
Another thing that improved was the layout and that fact that it looks a lot neater and fits together well and looks more professional. The main reason for this is the fact that I got a lot more comfortable using the programs as I came familiar with the different tools such as Photoshop. I was also able to pick appropriate text types and mages to fit the specific audience. Looking back I feel that I shouldn’t have made such a tight target audience but overall I have learnt a lot from creating this media product and this is not only the programmes and soft-wear but media organisations and the music world.
